"Stop that or I will trade you for a chimpanzee!" I say.

Lucy pants is going through a "thing" where she is constantly barking and she bites! She bites on any piece of your clothing she can get her teeth onto. It is horrible. She has bitten holes in so many of my things, including my FAVORITE orange Lucky sweatshirt. I think it is just because she is teething still and we see new teeth coming in. It is horrible though trying to shake the puppy off your coat sleeve, or pant leg constantly. She is doing great sleeping in her bed all night and not pottying all over the kitchen. I have almost taught her to not just sit by the front door quietly to go outside, but to bark so she gets our attention. She is doing ok at that. I enjoy our walks, looking at the Christmas lights all around. There is a HUGE dog we encounter almost daily on our walk, named Diego, who barks really loudly and jumps at the fence when we go by. She scares Lucy badly and even if he is not out, Lucy crosses the street to avoid him at that corner. The other day, I let Lucy take us on a walk and I followed her lead. My heavens she zigs and zags all over the place, sometimes going to the same spot 4 or 5 times before moving on. The path, if you were to draw it, might look like a path drawn on Stacey's game where you look in the mirror and try to trace a path. It was all over the place. She gets spayed in 3 weeks, and I hope I do not have to leave her over night. That is a sad thought.

Lucy's New Toy Box

Now this is how it looks! Everything fits right in it, and she can stand on the floor and get toys out. She has not figured out yet that if she puts her front paws on the side that she will be able to lean farther into the box. So she gets what she can reach. We could not find her Aqua Dog the other day and saw she had put it back into the toy box. It was quite funny. I gave her this Christmas present early because the house was so bad it was not even funny.
She has started sleeping locked in her bed. She does not bark or anything when you put her in. I am so proud of her and in the morning when she gets up at the crack of dawn she barks and I go up and get her out. I have no messes to clean up in the kitchen and I LOVE IT. She has lost a total of 7 teeth and will be spayed in 3 weeks.
Travis put Sky down on Wednesday. I am glad he took the step to do it. It had to be done. We looked into Animal Rescues and Shelters and nobody would take her because she could not be adopted out and she would just be a liability. He had no choice. She had lived under the bed for 4 months straight and the bedroom was horrible from her messes. But she is in peace now.
I gave Lucy a small piece of Turkey to celebrate her 1st Thanksgiving. She gobbled it right up.

The Disaster Before Susan Came Along..

This is just how it looked from Sky with all the bones and stuff all over the living room floor. I just about had a stroke it was so horrible. I was always cleaning the mess up just for it all to be dragged out again. Well, I could take it no more and decided a toy box was needed to keep all of the dog bones and toys in. I went all over looking for a toy box I had in mind. I thought a plastic Fisher Price one would be nice. No. They were all HUGE and Lucy would have never been able to get to her stuff, so at Toys R Us, I found the perfect one. We had to take the wooden lid off because it would not stay up and would fall on her head. The lid was cool, it was pink. It is really cute, and not at all cheap, but works perfect. It was the last one, so I got the display model and did not have to put it together!!

Potty Training Blues

Lucy pants is not doing good potty training at all. We have been slack on her at night and let her have full access to the kitchen, but she is not learning how to hold it. She pees 3 or more times in the kitchen at night among other things. In the day if we are in the living room, she will usually sit at the door to go out. One problem, the yard is filled with rabbit pooh and for some reason, Lucy eats it. She can not be trusted in the yard. It is what makes her very sick. So because of this pooh issue, we are getting her out of the yard and then she doesn't go and we go in and she goes on the kitchen floor. It is like this puppy pees every 5 mins. It is aggrivating. So starting tonight, since I am off this week, she is sleeping locked in her bed/cage. I will get up and take her out a couple times, but she needs to strengthen her bladder. I am so sick of cleaning up messes. I guess dogs take about a year to learn this potty outside concept, and she is only 6 months, but it is like she is making no effort. Sometimes she will go right on the floor in front of you when she could have told you she needed to go outside. It is stressful. I am quite sick of it but it is hard to be mad at a face like that. She is truely the cutest animal I have ever seen in my life.

I Look Sad To Get Extra Treats!

My Lucy pants has lost 5 teeth now, 2 of which came out an hour apart. She lost another this morining as she chewed on my shoe lace. Her tummy is doing better. For Christmas, Santa is bringing her a plastic toy box full of bones and treats and toys to distribute through the year. Plus, we need to clean this place up, as the living room is so full of bones you can barely see the floor. Lucy looks sad in this picture but she is the happiest puppy. She chases us around and around the island really fast. Her legs look funny in this picture like her body is missing. Her spaying is scheduled for some time in the middle of December. She loved the snow storm we had, eating it, jumping in it, and burying her nose, so her nose was all white and she was walking around like that. She was quite funny. Lucy makes me laugh everyday. She bites on the back of your shirt when you are coming down to the lower level and she missed the other day, getting a little too close and she bit my butt. I was in such pain but also had to laugh as my puppy had just bit my butt!

The Tooth Fairy

Last Wednesday, Lucy lost her first tooth. I had to have her weighed for her heart guard and the vet looked in her mouth and it was the first one she lost! (My little puppy weighed in at 25.74 lbs!) The tooth fairy came but put the treat in my car because she was afraid Lucy might chase her and bite at her wings. She brought Lucy a 2 pack of pedigree bones that she loves, but are a bit too expensive for every day pleasure. She doesn't have to go in for surgery until mid December the vet said. Lucy and I take long walks every morning and then play on the floor together before I retire to bed. This morning, we were playing fetch (yes, in the house) with a tennis ball. She ran to get it and saw another tennis ball and tried with all her might to get both tennis balls in her mouth at the same time. She looked so silly. She would get one, then start back to me, realize she only had one, and would go back to try to get the other. It was quite entertaining and silly. Billy and Sara came to visit Lucy the other day and Lucy jumped all over Billy. He was amazed at how "gi-normous" she has grown to be. She keeps me smiling and laughing every day, my Lucy Pants does.
