My Lucy Pants Is Growing Up

I am confident to say that Lucy is housebroken. In 3 weeks she has had one accident, that I am aware of, and it was my fault. I did not get up to take her out. I am so proud of her. Lucy does so many funny things each day. Every morning when I get home and let her out of her bed, she literally jumps on the bed she is so excited to start her new day. She is a show off. She pulls everything out of her bed: her spaceship blankie, aqua doggie, and the bones I put her to bed with. She proudly brings all the items and puts them into my lap, showing me what nice things she has. I think she forgets that I tucked her in the night before. She pushes balls and bones through the gate to Timmie, as if to say "Hey! I like to chew on bones! I want to share with you." But Timmie is not amused. Lucy does not chew on anything she is not supposed to. I think she is leaving her little puppy naughty behavior behind and growing up to be a wonderful companion and pet. Her new thing is to go potty outside alone. I let her out and shut the leash in the door, encouraging her to go potty without me coaxing her to go. She is doing great. Independence. That is what I am trying to teach her. Mommy came over the other day and we took Lucy for a really long walk. I wish all of you guys could get to know Lucy. She truely is the sweetest, most loving, playful, happy creature. She adores me as much as I adore her.

I Smell Bacon!

Lucy has hit a major milestone. She is 99.9% house broken! I was getting worried about her. I bought a carpet shampooer, I washed the rugs. Then she moved to the front door, going potty on a towel I dry her feet off with after coming inside. That lasted 2 days. Now she tells me EVERY time when she needs to go out. She missed once this last week but that is huge compared to her habits before. I am so proud of her. We are working on tricks and skills now. Learning to shake hands is the current one, but she is more interested in getting the cheerio out of my hand or kissing my face then shaking. Sometimes when I am not paying attention, she will walk up to me and give me her paw. I still have hope. We went to see Sara at work today, and she was like Marley in the car. (If you have not read "Marley and Me" I totally recommend it!) It was horrible. In this picture, Lucy is "burying" her giant Beggin' Bacon bone on the top of the couch. Like nobody will find it there! :)
